She specializes in strategic business development for the publishing industry and has held executive leadership positions at five publishing industry organizations, including The Publishers Cooperative. She has also led over 50 major events, including awards and conferences. Michele is the publisher of both independent audiobook company MMB Media and AudioFile Magazine, the world’s number one source for audiobook reviews. She is also Executive Producer of the award-winning Stories of Impact Podcast, two-time recipient of The American Writing Awards Science Podcast of the Year.
Mike has been a business leader in finance and operations for over 25 years. After passing the CPA exam he began his career in the corporate office of the precious metals division of Cookson America in the late ’80s. This was where Mike was first exposed to acquisitions & divestitures as well as working in operations, identifying synergies, and implementing integration plans in corporations. At Cookson, he worked his way through division controllerships to become director of financial reporting opportunities. Upon leaving Cookson, Mike served as CFO for several medium-sized entities. These included publicly traded, foreign-owned, and private-equity-backed organizations where he spearheaded several acquisitions and mergers. Mike joined a division of the British Broadcasting Corporation as director of Finance & Operations and later was promoted to Chief Operating Officer, in charge of the day-to-day operations of BBC Audiobooks America. He is currently President of MMB Media, LLC.
